The 2007 Annual Gunner Dinner was held at Club Willoughby on Saturday, 5th August in the presence of Her Excellency, Professor Marie Bashir, AC CVO, Governor of NSW and Patron of the RAA Association (NSW) Incorporated.
The 80th Gunner Dinner welcomed Major General Tim Ford AO, Representative Colonel Commandant, Colonel Allan Piercey, Colonel Commandant Eastern Region and the official guest of honour, Brigadier Paul Symon AO. Dining President for the evening was Colonel John Fairless RFD.
Following the traditional toasts to The Queen and The Regiment, Brigadier Paul Symon addressed the asembled gunners and their partners on "Current Operations of the ADF", a topic close to his heart having served in both Timor Leste and Afghanistan. In his address, Brigadier Symon highlighted the value of the staged levels and realistic training provided to Australian soldiers before entering the area of operations.
